We love this store and its quality so much. We had a 90 gallon fish tank that we purchased from this store, as well as dozens of fish and plants. The staff here is SO knowledgeable and passionate about keeping the pets here safe, and making sure you know how to care for them when you leave. The young woman who helped us today, with the really long curly/wavy hair and glasses was absolutely fantastic and answered every question we had. We love coming here

I had so much trouble cycling my 10 gallon fish tank. I used almost a full bottle of seachem stability with no luck. I called and asked what exactly I should do and they recommended their used filter media. After spending so much money and time trying to cycle my tank, I went 2 days ago to get my used filter media and today my tank is fully cycled. If you are having this issue, I couldn’t recommend this enough! Thank you to whoever helped me, I wish I had some names ☺️

They carry quality products and a wide variety of fish. Their main focus definitely is aquarium.s and fish, although they have some small pets and birds. The staff is very knowledgeable and helpful. They one of, if not the only locally owned single location pet stores in Louisville. There's another excellent example across the river in Indiana, but I'll leave a separate review for them.

I LOVE sandys! Could not recommend them enough!! We have 4 tanks , ranging in fish, shrimps, snails. Weve gotten most of them from here. The staff are WONDERFUL and well knowledged!! They have pretty much everything you could think of!

Way better than petco or petsmart. Bought a 3 month old cockatiel he was practically training already this is his set up at my house never leaves the area unless riding on your finger.

I love Sandy’s!! It’s the more ethical pet shops in Louisville and I just bought a new ferret from them yesterday. I felt very informed and we discussed for a while with an employee how they care for their personal ferrets, even gave me ideas and suggestions to improve my ferrets health and happiness. I really believe it’s a clean, friendly, and educational environment and I highly recommend people coming here for future pets

This place honestly needs to be the norm for most pet stores. Staff have always been engaging and helping. Every animal ive seen them handle was handled with much better care the other places. Sells a variety of items for animals, especially more exotic ones. I LOVE Einstein, he is always doing his own thing. I wish this place was closer to me!

I was very pleased with this little pet shop, it was clean, it had a good variety of animals, and the workers here were exceptionally nice and knowledgeable. They were polite and willing to converse with me til we figured out what I needed. 5 stars.

Sandy’s Pet Shop is hands‑down the best place around for fish and aquarium supplies. Their selection is always impressive—healthy fish, clean tanks, and plenty of options whether you’re a beginner or experienced hobbyist. The staff is awesome too: friendly, knowledgeable, and always willing to help you find exactly what you need.
